Mark graduated from Hays High in 1972 and, on October 7, 1976, he married Jackie Karlin, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. Mark served his country as a proud US Navy Veteran.

Even after retirement, he remained active, working part-time for Oldham Sales.
A true "Car Guy" at heart, Mark found joy in classic car restoration and all things associated with it. His cherished possession was a 1956 Chevy Nomad, a testament to his love for automobiles. Actively participating in the Thunder on the Plains car, truck, and cycle club, he promoted and enjoyed various shows. He was also a proud member of the Chevrolet Nomad Association.
Mark's infectious smile and unwavering friendship endeared him to all who knew him. He could always be counted on as a true friend in times of need. His Saturdays were spent relishing lunches at the Golden Q with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie of Hays; a son, Alec Lang of Hays; a sister, Victoria Degenhardt, and husband Jerry of Ellis; as well as his beloved fur babies, Hunter and Zelda, and grand fur baby, Ghost. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brett Alan Lang.
