Mark "Brian" Alegre passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Carepoint Health at Bayonne Medical Center. He was born in Manila, Philippines to Norma (nee: Maraan) Alegre and the late Pamfilo Alegre. He grew up in San Diego, California and Orlando, Florida, where his father was stationed in the United States Navy. He then returned to the Philippines for high school and college.
Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology from De La Salle University in the Philippines.
He then spent a few years in South Carolina after college and settled in New Jersey when he got married and started a family.
Mark began his career working at Bayonne Medical Center as an X-ray technician for ten years. He worked as a professor and clinical instructor at Christ Hospital School of Radiology for six years and also worked as a US Lithotripsy Specialist for United Medical Systems for 15 years until his passing.
Mark was known to be a jokester, always laughing, always smiling and never serious. He loved to play basketball, singing and blasting music in his car and his home.
He also loved doing yard work and going to Lowe's, which was his favorite store. He loved going on family vacations to Disney World and cruises.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of almost 25 years, Rheila (nee: Penales) Alegre; his loving children, Patricia and Brandon Alegre; his beloved mother, Norma Alegre; his dear brothers, Carlos Alegre, and his wife, Katrina, and Allen Alegre, and his wife, Myleen; and his loving nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Anthony, Christopher, Yhumie and Devin.
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, March 31, 2025. A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 10:45 a.m. followed by cremation at Rosehill Crematory. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
