Mark Allen Veach Obituary

Published by Eastgate Funeral Home - Garland on Aug. 23, 2022.
Mark Allen Veach, age 55, of Royse City, TX, passed away on August 23rd , 2022. Mark was born on March 10, 1967 to Larry and Mary (McBride) Veach in Wellington, KS. He was raised in Belle Plaine, KS where he attended elementary and high school, graduating in 1985. He then attended Kansas Newman College. Mark married Marianne Penrose on March 11, 2000. During their marriage, they were parents to Lucy, Tippy (aka Mr. Toe) and Sullivan (Sully), the most loved dogs ever. Mark's work career started at Roy's Rexall Drugs which led to his pharmacy tech jobs at the Veteran's Administration and Wesley Medical Center. Eventually, working in pharmacy led to him becoming a software engineer and relocating to the Dallas, TX area. His several decade career as an IT engineer included creating the "Pyxis Connect" system which vastly improved the rate of medication order processing. Throughout his life, he spent most of his time traveling, repairing cars, outdoor grilling, and helping others. His foremost hobby was spending time as a motorhead with his friends and his brother. Mark loved animals and never met a dog he didn't like and that didn't like him. His sense of humor was an integral part of his life. He loved to fix things as "Markie Miracle Worker" and to make people laugh. Football, NASCAR, boating, photography, any music from AC/DC to George Strait, driving fast, old cars, and telling paranormal stories were his favorite interests. As a husband, Mark always made sure his wife was taken care of as well as his pets. Even his neighbors benefited from his big heart. He rarely had to be asked to help anyone, always offering any assistance he could, even to strangers. Times spent travelling together were the highlights of their relationship. Their favorite place was Maui where they not only honeymooned but visited multiple times with both families. Mark loved going on adventures to new places like the Caribbean, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Scandinavia, and many other destinations with family, even when it was close to home exploring the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As a son, Mark loved spending time with his father, talking about all things mechanical but mostly cars. Mark was preceded in death by his mother and sister Laurie Jo. He is survived by his wife Marianne and father Larry Veach. Siblings: Katy Godfrey (Cape Coral FL), Rosemary Klish (David) Derby, KS, Elaine Veach, Wichita, KS, and Duane Veach (Liz) Wichita, KS, Beloved nephews, and nieces Katy (Michael, Mary), Rosemary (Matthew, Mark, Mason), Elaine (Jacob) and Duane (Emily, Lauren). The Memorial Service will be held on September 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn Blvd in Derby, KS 67037. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the Cowley County Humane Society, 7648 222nd Rd, Winfield, KS 67156. http://www.cowleycountyhumanesociety.org/donate.html

I just found out about Mark's passing. I can't imagine losing my brother or sister, especially since I lost Momma 2 years ago. Prayers for your family. I can't imagine losing 3 of my family members. This breaks my heart and I am truly sorry for you all! Prayers.

Dear Uncle Larry and family,
I was so very sorry to hear that Mark had passed away. I wish I lived closer and could have known my cousin better. It sounds like we had a love for animals in common. I know he was deeply loved and will be terribly missed. Your family has my deepest condolences for your loss.
Love,
Arlene

Very sorry to hear about Mark. I hadn't crossed paths in many years tho from his photo I'd have known him even if he didn't know me. My condolences to the whole family and furry friends. I hope to attend the service but if I'm unable my thoughts are with you all.
