Mark E. Boyd

Mark Edwin Boyd, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on July 26, 1953, in Spokane, Washington, Mark's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, service, and a passion for learning. He lived in Del Norte, Colorado, and was cherished by everyone who knew him.

A veteran of Desert Storm, Mark proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, dedicating his career to the supply division and embodying the values of honor and integrity. After his military retirement, he transitioned to a variety of rewarding occupations, such as being able to share his knowledge and passion for learning by becoming a substitute teacher in Alamosa and Monte Vista, where he touched the lives of many students.

Mark's passion for genealogy allowed him to forge a deeper connection with his heritage, expanding upon his father’s research, together with his brother. He was also an accomplished painter, woodworker and toy builder, showcasing his creativity and craftsmanship through his art. 

Above all, Mark treasured his family. He married his soulmate, Connie S. (White), on April 6, 1974, in Neosho, Missouri, and together they celebrated 50 years of love and partnership. He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie, and his three cherished daughters: Traci Boyd Hill, Michelle (Eric) Christian, and Judith Boyd, his grandson Alden Innis Konstu Hill and his brother Bruce A. (Dana) Boyd. His ability to listen, mentor, and impart wisdom will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Homer Edwin Boyd and Emma Geraldine (Watchous).

Mark had a love for nature, especially hiking and geology, and found joy in the companionship of his dogs, Yori and Mister 5—the cat who acted like a dog. He had an insatiable curiosity for the stars, enjoyed watching old movies, and engaging in conversations with friends old and new.

Cremation was selected and services will be held at a later date.
