Mark Burnett, beloved husband of 20 years to Laura Wong Burnett; loving father of Dan Burnett (Dee Knaack and her son Stefan), and Tom Burnett (Megan Storey); brother of Dave Burnett (Mary Ellen), Paula Demarbiex (Bill), Amy Kellogg, and the late Donna Lou Burnett; uncle of myriad nieces and nephews through blood and love.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 2:00 - 5:00pm at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, OH 44012.

For decades, my world was sad and empty, overwhelmed by an aimless loneliness even my unrelenting stubbornness could not overcome. Then out of the blue, you came along, and a joy and belonging, I never thought possible, entered every fiber of my being.

Everyday you showered me with your loving gifts: gifts of family, belonging, and unwavering love. You shared with me your irrepressible smile and silly grin that made my heart sing. Your sense of humor dissipated even the darkest clouds, fearlessly showing me the path forward while always holding me secure in your strong, yet gentle, arms. Your generosity and kindness knew no bounds. Your wisdom and intelligence continually elevated my thinking. And you even tolerated all of my crazy eccentricities, an absurd feat no mere mortal should ever be asked to surmount. Being cradled in your unconditional love was a gift I didn't deserve, but I am forever humbled and honored to be its recipient.

Your passing cannot be real, because I still feel you, alive within my heart and soul. You are my best friend. You are my compass. Without you, I am lost.

From this point on, I cannot and will not refer to you only in the past. You are and will always be my great love.
