Mark F. Carlos, 72, of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton.

Born in New York, NY, Mark moved to Hamilton 47 years ago after residing in Atlantic County. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Pratt Institute of Technology, followed by a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and an MBA from Rider University. Mark was a distinguished professional, serving as President of Physical Acoustics and as the Executive Vice President of MISTRAS Group in Princeton Junction. He was also an active member and former chairman of the E07 Committee on Non-Destructive Testing at the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM).

Mark enjoyed daily bike rides through Mercer County Park and fishing. He was an avid enthusiast of classic cars, having rebuilt and restored a '66 Shelby GT 350 and a '68 Shelby GT 500. Alongside his family, he traveled the US to visit various raceways and car shows.

Above all, Mark cherished his family and treasured the time he spent with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

Predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Laverne Carlos; and his siblings, Cassandra Drake, and Kim Carlos; he is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Christine Anne (Shellhorn) Carlos; his daughters and sons-in-law, Karin and Chad Durling of Yardley, PA, and Amy Carlos and Jeremy Capodici; his grandchildren, Paige, Drew, and Alyson; his siblings, Craig, Vernon, Jan, and Clay Carlos; and his nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony's Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mark's memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation by visiting In Memory Of at inmemof.org.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out about his passing. I worked with Mark for over 20 years and always respected him. He had a great passion about his family, work and hobbies. Doing all with a sense of humor. He will be missed.
