Mark Carter

Mark Lee Carter, 54 of 1185 Long Road Lumberton, NC entered the Heavenly Gates Thursday, May 29, 2025. He was a devoted employee in the maintenance department at Graphic Packaging of Lumberton, NC, a devoted member of Smyrna Baptist Church and Allenton Volunteer Fire Department.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Carter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Buffie Carter, his mother, Ann Carter, three sons, Darien Alan Carter (Laura) of Kelly, NC, Aaron Lee Carter of Lumberton, NC and Jarrett Holden Carter (Alexis) of the home, six grandchildren, Gracie, Alaina, Lucas, Loraina, Thomas Jay and soon to be baby boy Carter, his sister Amanda Ivey (Redell), a Mother In Law Florence McGirt, a Father In Law Marshall Hill (Linda), sister in law Lisa Bell, three nieces, Jaquel Stackhouse, Lorisha Bell, Madison Evers and one nephew Detrick Strickland, special friends, Mitchell Locklear (Melanie), Maxine Hunt (Doug) and Mesca Locklear (Bo). He also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
Mark was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a friend to everyone he met. Most importantly he was a strong man of GOD. If you talked to him he would tell you all about his family and share with you the love of GOD. Mark made sure to teach his family and most importantly his boys that the most important thing is life after GOD was your name. Earthly possessions and a bank account will fade away but your name and the life you live is what people will remember you by.
Interment will be at Bayside Freewill Baptist Cemetery.
