Mark Charles

Mark Charles, a beloved resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on May 11, 1950, Mark's early life was shaped by his roots in St. Joseph, where he attended Benton High School and graduated in 1968.

Mark pursued a career in construction, where he became known for his dedication and skill in the field. Throughout his life, he was not only a committed worker but also a joyful soul who brought laughter and warmth to those around him. Mark's wonderful sense of humor made him a cherished companion to many, and he always knew how to uplift spirits with a well-timed joke or a smile.

In his spare time, Mark delighted in playing the guitar, golfing, and most importantly, spending quality moments with his family and friends. His love for music was evident in his enjoyment of tunes by Heavens Band, which brought him great joy and served as a backdrop to many cherished memories.

Mark was married to Janette Smith on October 24th, 1983, creating a loving family that includes his son, Rodriguez Charles, and his adored grandchildren, Gabriel Charles, Michelle Charles, and Joseph Charles. His legacy of faith and love for the Lord resonated deeply within his family, and his steadfast Christian beliefs were a source of strength throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Janette Charles, and his siblings, Anthony and Kelly Charles. As we remember Mark, let us celebrate the life of a man who touched many hearts with his kindness and humor.

A memorial service honoring Mark Charles will be held on February 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bullock Family Funeral Chapel located at 1903 Jules St, St. Joseph, Missouri, 64501. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of a life well-lived.
