Mark Cottom Obituary
Mark was a member of the class of 1974 North Vigo High School. He was a union employee (Local 1426) for 38 years before retiring at Bemis. He served as a volunteer fireman with the Rosedale Fire Department for over 20 years.
Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marcia. He is survived by three sons, Mark Cottom (Plainfield), Steven (Michelle) Cottom (Terre Haute), Ron Fulford (Statesboro, Georgia). He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Kaddie (Chris) Gruener, Sidney Fulford, Tyler Fulford, Brogan Cottom, Emma Cottom, Ali Cottom, Eli Fulford, Abby Cottom, and Elly Cottom. He had two great-granddaughters, Bristol Gruener and Berkley Gruener; survived by brothers, Jerry Cottom and James Cottom; sisters, Martha (Bud) Ward, Venda (Lee) Blansett and Nancy Fauscett. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended Abernathy family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Van Cottom, grandson, Darryl Fulford, great-grandson, Levi Robert Gruener and sister-in-law, Marie Abernathy.
Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale with visitation from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial is in Rosedale Cemetery.
Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or Parkinson's Association, 14350 Mundy Drive, Noblesville, IN 46060 in his memory.
