To Mark´s Family
I am so sorry to hear of his passing and my condolences to you.
I drive by his beautiful home every day to get to work and noticed he got a new corgi puppy years back. I stopped to ask him where he got him from and he told me he got Tarzan from a breeder in Maine and gave her contact information. Mark is the reason I have a beautiful corgi who looks like Tarzan and has the same ears!
He never knew of the impact he had on our lives and probably didn´t remember my name but he would wave all the time.
I will always think of him and Tarzan when I drive by.

I have know Mark since we were hired by Delta Airlines and started our training class for the Boeing 727 in January of 1973. We both ended up being based in Boston which was just what he wanted. We would occasionally meet near the airport to have lunch and sometimes we were in recurrent training together. He was a great friend.
Ironically I had lunch with Mark in Plymouth this last July 24th. We had a great time catching up on our families etc. I think he said he was finally selling 44 Spring and was planning on buying a condo. He hated the idea of selling the property.
We are about the same age and so we talked about our health and living and dying. We both decided we wanted to live long enough to enjoy watching our children and grandchildren live their lives. Mark and I often flew together as he was a line check airman and he would arrange to give me a line check on the way to Nice. We would then have a nice dinner together there as we both loved the place. You can probably imagine that I always passed my line check. I might note that on Mark's final flight (or close to it) the whole crew of the Delta office at Nice had a cake for Mark on his departure day. He was moved by that.
I will miss him greatly. He was a man of integrity, kindness and generosity and was always a Gentleman. He was very proud of his daughters and loved seeing their lives as they lived them.
Goodbye old friend, I am so glad I got to see you in July.
Take your final flight West Mark and Rest in Peace.

Mark was the epitome of quiet kindness. Always ready with a smile, a truly gentle soul. He always had his Lodge brothers in mind. He will be sorely missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of Marks passing and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. . I had the pleasure of being Mark's hair stylist for about 21 years. I always enjoyed talking with Mark about his trips, his family ( which I lelt like I knew personally) and his adorable dog Tarzan. Mark always made sure he asked how everything was with me first, because that was the type of guy he was! Among many things we laughed about was, every summer when 4th of July hit, and Mark usually went to Nantucket, when I was him afterwards, he would always say to me... well Beth, you know once it's 4th of July SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER! I always said no it isn't! He said that probably 20 yrs in a row. I will miss Mark terribly. What a wonderful Man he was. Take care! Beth Schares
