Mark Steven Davis Sr. 67, passed away January 20, 2025. A life long resident of Mobile, Steve or PawPaw to those that loved him, had a true gift. Having never met a stranger, Steve always enjoyed the opportunity to share a story and brighten someone's day, usually leaving you with a "Roll Tide."
Steve raised his family in Mobile and was a long time coach of football, basketball and baseball. He loved teaching kids to play sports and it was never too late at night to play catch or practice free throws. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers after nearly 40 years of service. He deeply cherished the friendships he made in those years.
Steve is survived by the love of his life Linda, their children Jennifer (Jack) Crosby, Mark (Jennifer) Davis, Jana (Caleb) Davis, His most prized Grandchildren Davis, Hudson, John Reese, Henry, Madeline, and Lily, as well as his Brothers Jeff Davis and John Davis.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 am on January 28th at St Dominic Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at 10 am to share stories and memories in the Murphy Center at St Dominic.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Steve Davis Scholarship Fund, 6151 Airport Blvd Mobile AL 36608, to provide access to mental health care for those in need, a cause for which he cared deeply.
