It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Davis Sr. on July 8, 2024, at the age of 72. A rosary led by the BHS class of 1970 will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile, followed by a mass at 11:30 am. Interment will take place in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown and Father Ken Domingue as Co-Celebrants.
Carl was a proud graduate of Basile High School, class of 1970. His love for fishing, hunting, sports, and LSU football was surpassed only by his joy in playing softball on the men's league and cherishing precious moments with his children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind a legacy of love survived by his two sons, Carl (Chuck) Davis Jr. and fiancée Labrishca Sonnier; Ben Davis and wife Shaunna; two daughters, Jodie LeJeune and husband Mark, Veronica Vige and husband Luke; and twelve adoring grandchildren: Kaytlin Davis, Carley Davis, Benjamen Davis Jr., Lexi Davis, Cale Davis, Lindsey Davis, Wyatt LeJeune, Emma LeJeune, Haiden Vige, Laiken Vige, Kyndall Vige, and Madison Vige. Carl also leaves behind cherished extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Quincy Davis; Mother Larris Rider Davis; brother John Q. Davis; and nephew/godchild Joel Davis.
Carl will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend whose absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him. May eternal rest be granted unto him, O Lord; may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
