Mark Duda Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 22, 2025.
Mark Jason Duda, 67, of Boone, North Carolina, passed away at Carolinas Medical Center on September 20, 2025.

He was born in Marin, California, and was the son of Robert and Donna Duda.

He is survived by his wife Leigh Ann Duda, son Zach Duda, and his brothers and sister.

Mark showed exemplary kindness and compassion and held a lifelong love for helping others. In 2015, his bravery saved a young boy's life when he administered CPR, earning him a Meritorious Service Award from Charlotte Mecklenburg Police.

He faced an aggressive multiple myeloma with courage; we are deeply grateful to Dr. Barry Paul and the CMC oncology team, whose extraordinary care gave our family more time together. Our family will be deeply grateful for the noble actions of the CMC oncology team.

Mark loved to garden, cook for his family, watch TV game shows, kayak, and in every way keep himself busy. Above all, Mark remained level headed even when most couldn't. His wit, skill, and quick sense of humor never went unnoticed. His absence is felt strongest by the hearts he touched, with countless friends and family who will dearly miss his warmth.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held in Boone, NC, at a later date.
