Mark Jentz, age 70, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on November 4, 2023. Mark was born April 11, 1953, son of the late Harlon and Elaine (Bartz) Jentz. He married Pam Manning on June 5, 1982.
Mark will be remembered for farming with his parents as a young man. He and his family eventually bought the farm from them, milked up until 1986, and cash cropped afterwards. During that time, he also worked at Miller Electric for twenty-six years, and was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Ellington for over twenty-five years. Right until the end he operated a thirty-eight year old self-serve sweet corn business with his kids and grandkids on Highway JJ.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather “Bumpa” who was a great teacher to all. He was also Mr. Fixit. If he could not find the right part, he would just make it. He enjoyed working in his shop on tractors for neighbors and friends. When the day’s work was done, he always enjoyed sitting down with a cold Miller Lite.
Survivors include his loving wife: Pam Jentz; three children: Mike (Erika) Jentz, Chris (Miranda) Jentz, and Lindsay (Rodney) Fox. His eighteen grandchildren include Noah, Evan, Izaiah, Adelyn, Ethan, Emersyn, Violet, Charlett, Caitlyn (Kevin), Blake, Dylonn, Mariah, Raya, Autumn, Easton, Aubrielle, and Ainsleigh. He has two brothers: Bob Jentz and Dan (Lesly) Jentz; his mother-in-law Phyllis Manning, and a brother-in-law Jeff (Darlene) Manning. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.A special survivor, along with his family is his English Springer Spaniel, Olyvia-Beautiful Canine Dream, who was named by using the first initial of his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Benji, father-in-law Arthur Manning, sisters-in-law Vicki Jentz, Nancy Schroeder, and Pat Pohlman; and brothers-in-law Bruce Manning and Larry Schroeder.
