Mark Gerald Eberlein, age 58, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Gerald and Joan (Roomsburg) Eberlein. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Eberlein. Mark loved spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and working on tractors, he obtained his captains license and captained the Port City Princess for a period of time. Mark spent many years raising and caring for his Labrador Retrievers and was a man of few words with a kind and generous heart.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Karen Eberlein; children, Alex (Stephanie) Eberlein, Kristina Eberlein, Danielle (Nathan) Zomerlei; grandchildren, Ezekiel Eberlein and Mason Zomerlei; mother, Joan Eberlein; sister, Angel (Dan) Grit; nephew like son Nicholas Rottier; mother and father-in-law Terry and Jacklyn Schulte; brothers-in-law Gregory Schulte, Steven (Jane) Schulte, Kendrick Schulte; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 15, 2025 at the Throop Funeral Home, with Pastor John Hines officiating. Following the service there will be a luncheon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, 15164 Juniper Dr, Marne, MI 49435. Burial will take place in Blythefield Memory Gardens.
