Joseph Eberlein

Joseph G. Eberlein, age 88, of Crystal Lake passed away January 4, 2026. Beloved husband to the late Janice Eberlein. Loving father to Eric, and Joshua (Dayana) Eberlein. Cherished grandpa to Bella. Dear brother to Lynne Eichinger and Matt Eichinger. Cherished uncle to Matthew, Steven, Michelle, and Jacob. Preceded in death by his wife Janice, and his mother Virginia Eichinger. Loving cousin to many.
Joe was a devoted Chicago sports fan, cheering faithfully for all teams but especially the Bears and the Cubs. A lifelong movie and history buff, he had a special passion for World War II and could spend hours sharing stories and insights from that era. Joe dedicated 46 years of his career as a wireless engineer, beginning at AT&T, where his knowledge and commitment were deeply valued. Above all, he was a loving family man and a devoted father, whose kindness, curiosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL, from 9:00am-11:00am. A prayer service will be held at 10:45am. For more information please contact the funeral home, 815-385-0063.
