Mark Fahlstrom Obituary

Mark James Fahlstrom

Mark James Fahlstrom, 62, of Aitkin, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at his home.

He was born July 21, 1962, in Cloquet, MN, to James and Arlene (Davidson) Fahlstrom. He grew up in Hoyt Lakes, MN, where he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, and playing bass guitar. He graduated from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School in 1980.

After high school, he joined the US Army where he was a supply specialist from 1980-1983.

He attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis, MN, and Hibbing Community College.

Mark had various jobs throughout his life, mostly welding. His current job was at Grand Casino Mille Lacs working security.

Mark had a big heart and loved his family and friends immensely.

Mark is survived by son Braxton, Braxton's mother Jennifer Oestreich; son Robert, Robert's mother Pam Gregory Fahlstrom, and Pam's sons John and James McCormack; granddaughter Aerily; sisters Tamara (Tom) Salstrand and Tina (Michael) Crawford; brothers Scott (Jeanne) and Kurt (Chris); aunts and uncles Sharon and Ron Buetow, and Carolyn and Wendell Fahlstrom; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his Grand Casino Mille Lacs family.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 31 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM, at Grand Casino Mille Lacs.

Arrangements are with Sorenson-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Aitkin.
