MARK A. FLINN

1960-2025

Mark Alan Flinn, 65 of Westport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7th, from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. A scourge of a disease no human should ever have to endure.

Mark had a long and distinguished career in Media with extensive leadership and management expertise in digital, print, events, data, and television. Mark spent over 25 years with The McGraw-Hill Companies, serving in various roles, including many senior-level positions, in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Houston. He was Publisher of Aviation Week, VP Sales for BusinessWeek, and BusinessWeek TV. In addition, he was VP of Penton Aviation.

He was named President & CEO of the Sightline Media Group, which incorporated all of the Military Times Publications. His most recent position was with The Hearst Corporation, where he oversaw the FCW Brand. We are eternally grateful to Hearst for their generous and unwavering support of Mark through his illness.

Mark was an avid golfer, fisherman, boater, long-distance bike rider, and a great friend to all he met. He loved spending time with family and friends at his beloved Shorehaven Golf Club, where he served on many committees, including his last as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mark is survived by his cherished wife of 41 years, Sheila (Donnellan), his devoted son Matthew, and daughter Kaitlin. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Craig (Michelle), Keith (Carol), Brian, and many brothers and sister in laws and countless nieces and nephews. Important to note he is survived by his fifth brother, best friend and confidante of almost 60 years, Thomas Lauritano (Donna). He was predeceased by his parents, David and Lillian.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th, at 10am at St. Luke Catholic Church, 49 Tukey Hill Road, Westport, CT.
