Mark Allen Gohlke

Mark Gohlke died on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ardis Gohlke, along with his dear brothers-in-law, Gene Weinberger and Harry Umbach. Mark married his wife, Rita, on May 31, 1986. They have 2 sons: Steven Gottfried (Danielle Dal Santo) and James Gottfried (Heidi) They also have 3 grandsons, Harrison Gottfried, Stuart Gottfried, and Bennett Gottfried. He is further survived by his sister, Renee Weinberger, brother, Todd Gohlke (Kathy), sister Kim Holsted (Stephen), brother-in-law Karl Umbach (Charleen), along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mark grew up on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. He eventually moved to Milwaukee where he worked for 30 years at AO Smith/Tower Automotive. After that he worked at JW Winco part time for another 10 years. His coworkers appreciated his quick, easy, smile and wit. He leaves behind the gift of many memories. He loved spending time with his family, especially teasing them. He enjoyed woodworking projects, gardening, and traveling. He was a wonderful, gentle, and thoughtful husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family very much, and we loved him very much. His presence and strength of character will be deeply missed.

There will be a visitation at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N Calhoun Rd. Brookfield, WI 53005 on Saturday, August 2, from 1-3 pm, with a short prayer service to follow. If so inclined, consider a donation to a charity of your choosing in Mark's name.
