Dayton, Ohio, the son of Robert Herman Gradolph and Beatrice Mary Busse.
Mark graduated from Fayette County High School, Class of 1975. Mark was a man of many trades, working as an insurance salesman and then a tractor-trailer salesman for General Trailer for a number of years prior to finding his true calling in nursing. With the support of his loving wife, Mark returned to school to receive an Associate's Degree in Nursing. He went on to ultimately receive his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clayton State University in 2007. He had a long and accomplished career as a registered nurse, working at multiple hospitals including Grady Memorial Hospital, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. He practiced in many areas, including the emergency department and interventional radiology, prior to his retirement in 2019. Outside of his profession, Mark enjoyed a good cigar, riding motorcycles, listening to Braves baseball, a decent round of golf, and spending time with family and friends. Mark always found truth in logic and enjoyed a constructive argument. He was intelligent and had a wealth of knowledge, as was evidenced by his success at weekly team trivia with family.
