Mark L. Hald Jr.

Mark L. Hald, Jr. of Pepperell, Massachusetts passed away on June 9, 2023. He was 76 years of age. Born to Mildred and Mark L. Hald, Sr. in Queens, New York on July 4, 1946. Graduate of Patchogue High School in 1964 and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1966, where he proudly served until 1973. He was then employed by Digital Equipment Corporation for 35 years and retired in 2020.
Inspired by his father, he became a licensed ham radio operator in 1973. Drawn to anything that went fast, he raced motocross motorcycles and cars in the Porsche Club of America. In more recent years, he enjoyed quieter hobbies such as boating, fishing, and willing to tinker with anything.
Mark is survived by his wife of 22 years Claire (Herrick) Hald; his son Mark Hald, III, his daughter Debra Hald, and his former wife Veronica, their mother; Claire's children Tamara Robichaud and her husband AJ Robichaud, Jill Kinsman, and predeceased by her son Shawn Kinsman; his sister Ellen Hald and brother Eric Hald; his grandson, Aidan O'Brien, and three step-grandchildren, Daigan Robichaud, Myranda Robichaud and Andrew Robichaud.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 16 from 4 PM to 7 PM at McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main Street, Pepperell, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association in his memory would be welcomed.
