PEMBROKE - Mark A. Hancock of Pembroke passed away at his home on Monday, September 8, 2025, just 2 days shy of his 73rd birthday, after a lengthy illness. Born in Ozark, Cp Rucker, Alabama, he was the son of Carlisle "Hank" and Jean (Post) Hancock.
Mark had many hobbies and interests. He loved cooking, gardening, finding unique lawn ornaments at yard sales and flea markets, fishing and more recently tending to his vegetable garden. He also loved music, attending many concerts and found solace in playing his guitars.
Mark had a successful sales management career, starting out at K-Mart in Madawaska, Maine to selling coffee for Elkin Coffee in Bow, NH to selling printers and copiers for Minolta Business Systems, Indigo America, and Connecticut Valley Office Machines, and then ending his career selling newspapers for the Concord Monitor and then the Union Leader. He made Presidents Club on many occasions, earned reward trips, and received many accolades and awards throughout his sales career.
Mark was also an avid sports fan, most happy watching football Sunday afternoons with family and friends. He coached many sports teams including Suncook Youth Soccer, Basketball and Little League. You could also find Mark on the sidelines moving the chains at his son's Hooksett Hurricanes Football Games. These were his most happy times.
He enjoyed vacationing along the Maine coast, all the way to Lubec, ME. He also enjoyed cruises to Canada, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands.
Beside his parents, Mark was predeceased by his brother, Grant Hancock.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Hancock; sons, Mark Hancock and his wife, Kristen of Pembroke, Kevin Hancock of Pembroke, Derrick Hancock and his wife, Abby of Epping; and his daughters, Melissa and Jeanne Hancock of Meredith. His grandchildren include Alex and Noah Delucca, Aaric Grablewski, Annabelle and Bennett Hancock, and Leah Hancock. Mark leaves behind his sister, Shawna Connor and her husband, Jamie of Marshfield, MA as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mark will be missed by his family and friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will take place at Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St, Pembroke on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm with a Memorial Service for Mark to immediately follow the calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at Buck Street Cemetery, Bachelder Rd, Pembroke, NH at a later date.
