Mark H. Hardenbergh

Mark Henry Hardenbergh was born on September 13, 1929, to his parents Albert H. Hardenbergh and Louise H. Hardenbergh, in Bronxville, New York. He passed away the morning of January 7, 2022, peacefully. Mark was a veteran who served with the United States Army and was stationed in Japan. Mark graduated from Yale University with a total of three degrees. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture as well as Master's Degree in city planning. Mark went on to own his own architecture firm and has architectural designs all around Cleveland. Anyone who knew Mark knew how fun and bright he was. He was known for dark humor, quick wit, and a notorious sparkle in his eye. Mark was someone who could always be counted on in hard times not only to help see a person past their trying times but to push them to be their best self. It is in these ways that Mark has left a hole in many people's lives. He will be dearly missed by friends and family alike. He is remembered by his son, Mark Stephen Hardenbergh, his daughters Laura H. Gifford and Holly E. Hardenbergh, as well as his granddaughter, Julia E. Binder and his companion Marilou Abele. He will be lovingly greeted in heaven by his wife of over 50 years Tina E. Neighbors Hardenbergh as well his son Michael J. "Ferd" Hardenbergh.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be holding a memorial service but appreciates any and all prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
