Mr. Mark L. Hariton, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023, at
Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital with his family by his side.
Born June 28, 1941, in New York City to Herman and Lucille Itskowitz, he graduated from
Dewitt Clinton High School in 1959 and later earned his BA degree in political science from
Ithaca College and his Master's from Columbia University. After graduating from college, Mark
briefly worked as a social studies teacher before joining the Xerox Corporation in 1969 as a NY
Team member. In the early '80s, he settled in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he established his
business, Convenient Addressing Systems, which he operated until his retirement in 1998.
Over the course of his 40 years living in Fort Lauderdale, Mark was very involved in his
community, lending a helping hand to others in need. He was a volunteer with The Mental
Health Association of Broward County, Broward County Schools, a long-standing member of
The Diabetes Research Institute and Foundation and was a big brother with Big Brothers Big
Sisters of America. He also served as a board member at The Berkley South Condominiums for
40 years.
In addition to serving his community, Mark also enjoyed taking cruises, especially in the
Caribbean, and exploring new area restaurants with friends and family.
Mark is survived by his wife, Maria Teresa Hariton, a stepdaughter, Sandra Statner, and former
spouse, Audrey Hariton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Irwin
Barry Hariton, and his stepson Adam Paul Statner.
The burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at Lauderdale Memorial
Park, 2001 SW 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, followed at 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of life at The
Berkley South Condominium Clubhouse located at 3015 N. Ocean Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or at www.stjude.org.
