Mark Hatfield

Shirley Mark Hatfield, Jr., age 76 of Fairborn passed away November 26, 2021. He was born July 16, 1945 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, the son of the late Shirley M. Sr. and Margaret (Beagle) Hatfield. He loved living on the farm with is grandparents, Charlie and Fannie Hatfield. Mark served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam; and followed with employment from Montgomery County as a grounds supervisor. He was an avid UK basketball fan; western movies; gardener; and enjoyed his coffee. Mark loved his family, especially his dogs. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cora; sister, Donna Kidwell. Mark is survived by his children, Melinda Hollingshead (Scott Griesheimer), Scott (Cindy) Moyer, and Rusty (Renee) Hatfield; grandchildren, Sarah Hammond, Hannah Weikert, Aaron Page, Rachel (Josh) Luis, Chrissy Moyer, Cody Hatfield, Michael DiFora Christopher Hatfield, Elijah Hatfield; great-granddaughter, Sophia; sister, Wendy (Brad) Barcus; nephews, Brandon (Jamie) Barcus and their son Byrce, Thomas Kidwell and his daughters, Lacie and Haley; niece, Brittany Barcus and her daughter, Kaelynn; as well as extended family members. A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 9, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. Mark will be laid to rest next to his wife at Medway Cemetery.
