Redmon Funeral HomeSTOW - Today, we say goodbye to the kind of dad and husband who made family his life’s work. Mark A. Hoaglin, 70, passed away August 18, 2025.
Born in Akron, he resided in Stow for the last 50 years. Starting his ongoing sales career, he worked at Stow Sparkle Market during and after high school, then retiring from TCH Industries in 2020.
Mark was the kind of person who could crack a joke in any situation and then turn around and be there for you in every way that mattered.
He was known for his humor and his unwavering love for all of us. He coached his children in Stow Parks & Recreation programs and later continued that tradition with his grandchildren. If he wasn’t coaching, he was in the stands - never missing a game, recital or family event. As much as he loved the Browns, the Indians, the Cavs and the Buckeyes, watching games with him was unforgettable. He was animated, loud and a wreck. His passion for Cleveland sports and Ohio State was equal parts frustration and joy, but it was always something to remember.
In retirement, he found joy on the golf course and the pickleball court with his buddies. But more than anything, he was the guy who always showed up. The one you could count on. No matter what, he was there - steady, reliable and present for his family in a way that defined who he was. That’s what he’ll be remembered for most - showing up, bringing us together and teaching us what it means to put family first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rosemary “BeeGee” Hoaglin. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Pat; his children, Dan Hoaglin (Jenna) and Jena Edwards (Paul); his cherished grandchildren, Hayden, Marlee, Jaxon, Saylor, Lincoln and Reese, as well as his siblings, Sue (Dave) Hoaglin, Ted (Kathy) Hoaglin, Nancy (Eric) Miller and Mary (Dale) Ward.
