Mark E. Hodge, 67, of Marion, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Born on October 22, 1957, to the late Jack and Gladys Hodge, Sr., Mark grew up in Marion and was a proud graduate of Oak Hill High School, Class of 1976. He spent his early years working on the family farm, where he developed a strong work ethic that shaped his life and career. Guided by determination and vision, Mark went on to become a successful entrepreneur, founding and co-founding several businesses, including Firstway Express, Marco Limited, and Bucktown LLC.
In his younger years, Mark was passionate about dirt track racing, competing as the driver of the legendary Rat 1 Late Model car. He later became an avid motorcyclist and a long-time member of ABATE Indiana. His competitive spirit carried into other hobbies as well--he was a ranked amateur shuffleboard player and a dedicated electronic bowling competitor, successfully bowling a perfect 300 game and winning multiple Grant County Championships. Mark was also a member of West 8th Street Wesleyan Church, where he found fellowship and community.
Mark's greatest joy was his family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Colton (Megan Arnes) Hodge and Caleb (Kelcie Smith) Hodge; his brothers, Jack "JD" Hodge, Bill Hodge, and Allen Hodge; his nieces, Holli (John) Pearce and Shelli Hodge; his nephews, Jason (Kylee) Hodge, Aaron (Taylor) Felty, and Seth (Rachel) Thomason; as well as his devoted partner, Amber Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Gladys Hodge, Sr., and his sister-in-law, Ronda Hodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to West 8th Street Wesleyan Church. The family deeply appreciates the love and support expressed during this difficult time and encourages those who wish to honor Mark's memory to do so through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Mark's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dan Van Cise officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.

Mark was a true friend, whenever I needed his help or to borrow a piece of equipment his response was always the same "what time do you need it" He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know Mark very well, just an acquaintance from years past, but I know he was a special and very memorable person. I know that you all will miss him dearly. God bless you, especially during this painful time.
