MARK JACOBSON
Mark T. Jacobson was born on October 12, 1947 in Northwood ND to Tom and Dorothy Jacobson of Finley, ND. He was raised on the family farm east of Finley, ND and went to school in Finley, graduating with the class of 1965.
He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Lundstrom, August 26th, 1967. He was drafted into the Army in the fall of 1967 and served in Viet Nam. He returned to the farm in Finley, where they raised their family until moving to Hope in 2013. Mark’s life was spent working the soil, farming alongside his dad until taking over on his own. Any time not farming was spent on the water with a fishing pole in his hand - Trips to Canada, many years fishing with friends at Brendel’s Bay on Lake Sakawea. The last 10 years of Mark and Diane’s summer fishing adventures were spent at East Bay Campground on Devils Lake.
Mark is survived by his wife Diane and children Wendy (Steve) Gylten of Hatton and Brian (Traci) of West Fargo, and six grandchildren, Mackenzie (Jake) Keller, Justin Holkesvig, Ella Holkesvig, Addyson Jacobson, Kaylee Jacobson, and Liam Jacobson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Powell.
A Celebration of Life will Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hope, ND. Visitation will be on hour before services. Interment will be in the Ostervold Cemetery, rural Finley in the Spring
