Mark Edward Jones

Mark Edward Jones, 58, of Lyons, passed away on February 23, 2026. He was born on May 17, 1967, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Patsy and the late James Jones.

From childhood, Mark dreamed of becoming a firefighter. He achieved that dream and proudly served his community for many years. Known for his bravery, kindness, and dedication, he was respected by everyone who worked with him.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his dog, Cinder, who was always by his side. He loved country music-especially Garth Brooks-and even took part in Garth Brooks look alike contests. He also had a passion for classic cars and took great pride in his '69 Charger "General LEE" remake.

Mark brought joy, laughter, and adventure to the lives of those around him. He is survived by his mother, Patsy; his brother, Chris (Zok); his sister, Donna; and his nephew and nieces, Jimmy, Amanda, Jenny and Mari Ann; friend: Gina. He was preceded in death by his father, James.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Justen Funeral Home of Round Lake, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073.
