Mark C. Keil

On Thursday, December 5th, Mark C Keil of San Jose, passed at the age of 61. He was surrounded by friends and family until the very end. He was preceded in death by his father, Willi Keil, and son, Christopher Keil. He is survived by his mother, Elli Keil, sister, Heidi Castillo, brother-in-law, Ronald Castillo, daughter, Rebecca Keil, son-in-law, Michael Sutherland, and life partner, Karen Juliano, as well as nephews, Derek Castillo and Ryan Castillo, and niece, Chelsea Castillo and many grand nieces and nephews.
Mark was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and moved with his parents and sister to San Jose as a child. He went into IT as a young adult and worked his way up, becoming a mentor to many people over the years. Through his son, he discovered a passion for hockey, joining and eventually becoming the president of a youth hockey league where he made a substantial and long lasting impact. He also shared with his son a passion for cars, eventually also leading him to join a car club where he made some life long friends.
Mark lives on through the stories his partner, Karen, shares and the memories held by everyone he met. His memorial will be held in Spring 2025 at a park where he wanted it to be a celebration - a time for fun, not mourning.
