Mr. Mark Eugene Kersh, 62, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Darryl Womack, Rev. Robby Williams and Steve Kersh will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, October 9th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Born on January 16, 1961 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Robert and Charlene Turner Kersh. He was a graduate of Johnson High School Class of 1979. He attended Gainesville College and the Police Academy in Athens, GA. Mr. Kersh was a former Gainesville City Police officer. He was currently employed by Crane Transport, Oakwood, Ga. He was the only Santa Claus that many families in this area has known for almost 20 years. Mr. Kersh was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Kersh is survived by his loving wife, Tara Whitfield Kersh of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Caleb and Kristen Kersh of Flowery Branch; daughter, Marah Kersh of Gainesville; grandchildren, Finn, Ayvah, and Camden Kersh; brother and sister in law, Steve and Kathy Kersh of Gainesville and a number of other loving relatives.
