Mark Kolka Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay - Gladwin Chapel on Mar. 26, 2025.
Mark T. Kolka, Sr., aged 60, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away after a lengthy illness on March 25, 2025, at McLaren-Bay. Born on June 17, 1964, to the late Donald and Mary (Livingston) Kolka, Mark grew up in a bustling household that was always filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
On April 25, 1986, Mark married the love of his life, Joy Lyn McEvers, in Roscommon. Their union was blessed with four children: Janet Lyn Gonzalez, Elizabeth Kolka, Mark Kolka Jr., and Jeffery Kolka, who in turn filled Mark's life with the joy of several grandchildren. He was a family man at heart, and nothing brought him more happiness than the time spent surrounded by his loved ones.
Mark was the cornerstone of his family, a role he shared with his siblings Ray, Mike, Jim, Donald, Joe, and Diane Kolka. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Kolka, and his memory will continue to be cherished by his entire family.
A talented carpenter, Mark spent his career working in several cabinet shops where he was known for his exceptional craftsmanship. His hands were rarely still, for he found solace and joy in creating beautiful pieces of woodwork. Mark's creativity extended beyond his professional life and into his personal passions. He had a particular fondness for watching TV, with "The Golden Girls" being among his favorite shows, which he often quoted with a twinkle in his eye.
Mark will be laid to rest at Crest View Cemetery, Roscommon, Michigan
