Died: February 4, 2026 in Joliet
Mark S. Kuhajda
Age 66, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice.
Preceded in death by his parents Fritz and Lillian (Rafac) Kuhajda and his brother Frank Kuhajda.
Survived by his wife Nancy (Pellegrini) Kuhajda and his aunt and uncle Paul and Mary Ann Rafac, along with various cousins.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Mark graduated from Joliet West High School Class of 1977. Part of Chicago Haunt Builders and enjoyed creating and setting up our home yard haunt known as Count Kuhajda's Haunted Haus. Mark worked with his Top Fuel Saloon friends on various events through the years. He enjoyed his time there with close friends.
As per Mark's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Services at a later date.

I knew Mark from St Cyril´s Grade School in Joliet. Our class sizes were so small that everyone felt like family! Mark was, hands down, the smartest child in our class. May The Good Lord grant all of you, much peace, during this difficult time. Keeping you in my prayers.

I also knew Mark from Sts. Cyril & Methodius Grade School on Henderson Avenue in Joliet. He always was very kind to everyone. He also was the smartest person in the class, hands down. I remember reading an article about Mark and his wife, Nancy, always decorating for Halloween. That was so nice for the kiddos and I'm sure he enjoyed it as well.
