Visitation Services for Mr. Mark Anthony Lynch, 67, of
DeBerry, Texas will be Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home in
Carthage, Texas. Friends and family are invited to The Lynch Family Residence following the visitation for a celebration of life luncheon and fellowship.
Mr. Mark Anthony Lynch was born January 2, 1959 in
Carthage, Texas. He passed away peacefully January 21, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The youngest of three boys born to the marriage of JD and Jimmie Nell Lynch, Mark was raised and schooled in
Carthage, Texas, graduating with the Class of 1977. After high school, Mark spent many years in the oilfield industry before attending Panola Jr College where he was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. After Panola, Mark attended Kilgore College where he earned his degree in Radiologic Science in 1997. Mark spent his career as a surgical x-ray technician, retiring from Longview Regional Medical Center after 20 years of service. From the hospital and oilfield, he has numerous cherished colleagues and friendships.
Mark was known for his boisterous laugh and big heart. No matter the occasion, he always had a joke to share and was making his family laugh until the very end. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing (mainly fishing), and even raising ostriches for a period of time!
In 1988, Mark welcomed to the world his pride and joy, his son Austin Patrick Lynch, with wife Penny Renee Patrick, of Garland, Texas. From offshore adventures to striper fishing on Lake Tawakoni, the many hours spent together with Austin on the water were some of Mark's most treasured memories.
In November 2016, Mark married his beloved and caring wife, Ginger Leigh Forsythe (of
Carthage, Texas) and gained his three bonus children: Jessica Lane Ivy, Natalie Mae Forsythe, and Pearson Dean Forsythe. Mark and Ginger shared a passion for cooking and baking, frequently feeding friends, family and neighbors, and even owned and operated Diddy-wa-Diddy's, a small BBQ restaurant in
DeBerry, Texas for a period of time early in their relationship. Together they celebrated 9 years of marriage and 13 years together.
Mark's other love was for man's best friend- his standard poodle, George. He and George were inseparable, spending almost every hour together and making many road trips to town.
He is preceded in death by late wife Lisa Brown Lynch, his mother and father, JD and Jimmie Nell Lynch; grandparents, Dick and Sybil Lynch and Raymond and Christine Harris; along with many loved family members.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Lynch; children, Austin Lynch, Jessica Ivy and husband Rusty, Natalie Forsythe and Pearson Forsythe; brothers, William Raymond Lynch and wife Laura Lee, Richard Harris Lynch and wife Debbie Sue; nephews and nieces, Aaron Lynch and wife Chasity, Isaac Lynch and wife Courtnye, Michael Kaufman, Jennifer Lynch, Courtney Koopman and husband James; grandchildren Lane Russell Ivy and Dani Rae Ivy; numerous great nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Akins, Pat Arnold, James Hill, Rusty Ivy, Matt Smith, and Brad Tilbury.
The family would like to express special thanks to the CCU Medical staff and Cardiology teams of Willis Knighton-North for their diligence and care throughout the past several years.
A private memorial service and burial of ashes will take place at DeBerry Cemetery at a later date.
