Mark Edmund Manzke

Mark Edmund Manzke, age 65, quietly slipped away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was the beloved brother of Marjorie (Jerry) Kahsen, John (Madge) Manzke, Mari (Joseph) Chmelik, Jeanine Veldman, Albert Manzke, Dorine Capaletti, Karen Rapinchuk and Lorelei (Christopher) Cole, fond brother-in-law to Leslie Rough and Cheri Warren, and treasured uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert A. Manzke and Teresa F. Manzke (nee Rooding), and his brothers, Gerard Manzke, and Gregory Manzke.

In August 2025, a tragic fall while on a fishing trip became the pivotal point of a downward spiral in his health. Until then, Mark worked at First Student, as a driver of special needs children. He was always available for any task thrown at him and the first to volunteer when needed.

Mark was a sweet, selfless, and gentle man, someone who loved helping everyone. He was quiet and unassuming, never asking for recognition, never keeping score, never expecting anything in return for his help and love. His favorite hours were spent fishing, playing games on his computer, searching for dessert recipes, and collecting points from his favorite vendors (but never redeeming points). We will miss his kindness, warmth, and the pitter patter of his little feet.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Chapel service will be at 11:00 am at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 South Cass Avenue, Darien. Interment private
