Mark McLeod Obituary
Mark was born in Sanford, North Carolina, on March 6, 1954, to the late Henry Hutson and Lucy Farthing McLeod, where he spent his early childhood until his family relocated to Raleigh when he was six years old. He dedicated 45 years of his career to Tipper Tie before retiring in 2019.
Mark was a man who loved to stay busy, particularly in his garage, where he channeled his creativity into building things and bringing new ideas to life. Also, Mark was very interested in history and enjoyed reading books on the subject. Above all, he cherished his family. His grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy. Mark created lasting memories for his loved ones, organizing family vacations to the mountains and trips to the beach, where he shared his enthusiasm for saltwater fishing.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Patricia McLeod of Apex; three sons: Nathan McLeod of Cary, and his children Philip and Summer; Aaron McLeod and his wife Kim of Fuquay Varina, and their children Samantha Pope and her husband Stephen, and MacKenzie and Meghan; and Eric Blalock and his wife Julie of Sims, and their children Landon, Colton, and Elise; a daughter, Sabrina Abraham and her husband Brad of Fuquay Varina, and their children Kayla and Natalie; and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Pope. He also leaves behind two sisters, Susan McLaughlin and husband Daffy of Siler City, and Gail McIlwain and her husband Lee of Chapel Hill; a sister-in-law, Janie Cottrel; and many cherished nieces and nephews: Lisa, Sherry, Connie, Michael, John, Cindy, Penny, Anna, Christopher, Virginia, and Katherine.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth McLeod Bishop, and his brother, Thomas Collins McLeod.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. at New Hill Baptist Church, 3700 Old US 1 Highway, New Hill, North Carolina officiated by Pastor Jimmy Holder.
