Mark Steve Miller passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the age of 65. He was born on March 20, 1959 in Plainview, TX to parents Orba and Maudine Miller. Mark grew up in Floydada, TX and farmed with his brothers in the Sandhill and Barwise communities for 46 years.
Mark was an active and faithful member of the Church of Christ from a young age and served the Lord with gladness all the days of his life. He always held his faith and taught his family how God’s love carries us through every part of life. He was few in words but always busy in action serving in the sound room during services and maintaining the baptistry at Northwest Church of Christ.
He loved and cared for his family and valued time with them at church services, innumerable sporting events, riding jet skis at the lake, and working together on any project that ever came up. Building, working on, and fixing things was his specialty. He was the problem solver for many friends and family members.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Cade Miller; one brother, Lyle Miller; and twin grandsons, Reid and Graham Miller.
Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patti; two children, Luke Miller and wife Jaclyn of Plainview, and Avery Pinkerton and husband Seth of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Tatum, McCoy and Crew Miller; Boyd, Bodie, Bauer and soon-to-be-born Booker Pinkerton; two brothers, Van Miller and wife Dianna of Plainview, Hugh Miller and wife Karen of Floydada; sister-in-law LaTresa Miller of Floydada; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be greatly missed.
In his almost 2-year journey with ALS, Mark received loving care from many doctors, nurses and his loving wife ensuring he fought the disease with ambition, determination, and steadfast faith. His family is forever grateful for the care he received during this time.
