Mark passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71. Mark is survived by his brothers: Joseph of San Diego, CA, Michael (Pat) of Sun Prairie, WI, Paul (Debbie) of Pueblo, CO, and Ken (Deanna) of Richland Center, WI, brother-in-law, Jerry Blum, of Madison, WI, sister-in-law, Joanne Nitka, of N Ft Myers, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marion, a sister, Virginia Blum, brothers, Patrick and John, a niece, Angela Nitka, a sister-in-law, Nancy Nitka, and a special treasured friend, Nancy Warner, who was very dear to him.

Special thanks to Mark’s niece, Teresa Blum, and many thanks to his nephew, Mike Blum, and his life long friend, Scott MacNaughton, for their loving care and support of Mark and to all those who visited him, shared time with him, and supported him. The family also wishes to extend sincere thanks to SSM Hospice, all the doctors, nurses, and clergy at St. Mary's Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion over the last several weeks.

Mark was a quiet guy who loved watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers. He had a passion for music and had an extensive collection. He loved traveling and was able to visit many different places. Some of his other favorite pass times were bowling and playing cards with good friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30th, at Cress Funeral & Cremation Services, 3610 Speedway Road. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service which begins at 11:00 a.m.

Private Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
