Mark Steven Pelletier, 62, passed away April 1, 2024, at his home in East Haven, CT, after over a year long battle with leukemia. He was the loving husband to Susan (Barrett) Pelletier. In the weeks leading up to his death, he was surrounded reminiscing with family and friends.

In addition to his devoted wife, Susan, Mark is survived by his two children, Jennifer A. Pelletier (Cheshire) and Jeffrey M. Pelletier (Wolcott); two brothers, Carl Pelletier Jr. (Waterbury) and Wayne Pelletier (Terryville); several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Benjamin Fuller. Mark will be greatly missed by his family, friends and coworkers.

Mark was born October 4, 1961 in Waterbury to the late Carl Pelletier Sr., and Alice (Sullivan) Pelletier. He was a lifetime resident of CT; he lived several years in Waterbury, Cheshire, Wolcott, and East Haven.

He was a proud graduate of Barnard School, in 1975, and Kennedy High School, in 1979, both in Waterbury. He became a carpenter at 15 years old and he continued that craftsmanship for over 46 years. He was a union member of the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters.

Mark had many passions in life including: school, math, roller skating, dancing, listening to music (classic 70s soft rock), traveling, boating, trivia, drawing, puzzles, renovating houses, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Mark adored his family and friends, especially when time was spent dancing, listening to music, sipping on a Budweiser, and/or reminiscing.

He said time and again that his mother taught him to never be a wallflower. She taught him to dance at an early age and it was something he never forgot. Mark was one of the firsts to be on the dance floor and he’d draw family, friends and strangers to join in on the fun. One of his brothers referred to him as the “hip dude.” He brought smiles to others boogying down. One of his cousins said he inspired him to excel in country line dancing.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. A Prayer Service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. There will be private funeral services for immediate family and friends at another time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
