GRAND BEACH - Mark Alan Piper, 68, of Grand Beach, MI, passed away on Weds. Dec. 10, 2025, in Berwyn, IL.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Mark was born on Feb. 13, 1957, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Henry and Laila (Tuuri) Piper.
Mark was a 1975, graduate of Menominee Falls North High School, and continued his education at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI receiving his Bachelors Degree.
On Nov. 28, 1981, he married Margaret Singer. Mark was an IT Executive at various places – Andersen Consulting-Milwaukee, Andersen Worldwide-Chicago, CNA Insurance and the Kirkland & Ellis Law Firm. He enjoyed photography, hiking and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Mark will be greatly missed by friends and especially by his family.
Mark is survived by his wife Margaret; three children – Matthew Piper of New Lennox, IL, Martin Piper of Hazelwood, MO and Madeline Piper of Cherry Hill, NJ; three brothers – Ken (Lucy) Piper of Tulsa, OK, Don (Barb) Piper of Whitefish Bay, WI and Dennis (Teri) Piper of Overland Park, KS; and a brother-in-law Tom Schaeffer. He is preceded in death by a sister – Patricia Schaeffer and step-father William Brew.
A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in New Buffalo with Father Basker Lopez officiating. A public Memorial Gathering will be announced and held sometime in July 2026.
