Mark Daniel Russell, 49, of Ward, died Saturday, March 26, 2022 in North Little Rock, AR. He was born March 11, 1973 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Bill and Betty Russell. He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, Stephen Russell. Mark is survived by his mother, Betty; his son, Jared; his love and best friend, Christy Organ; his brother, Stephen Russell (Tuesdi); his sister, Deborah Wallace; his brother, James Russell (Barbara) and his nieces and nephews, Dana See, Chance Russell, Brock Wallace, Ally Wallace and Kaitlin McCann.
Mark graduated from Cabot High School in 1991 and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was co-owner of Frontier Insurance Adjusters in Cabot.
Mark spent his entire life living large. The youngest of the family, he was a precocious and adorable baby, and that set the stage for his life. He had a confidence and drive that made achieving his goals seem effortless. Luckily for all of us, most of those goals were to serve others. Mark had a diverse range of interests and talents, and seemingly limitless energy for them. He led singing at his church, he ran the youth football program, he served on the Cabot School Board, he was the "Voice of the Panthers" on Friday nights. He was the best person to call for help. He was the go-to in any crisis for his family and friends, and he always "knew a guy" who could help with any problem. As a matter of fact, many of Mark's sentences started with "A really good friend of mine " and there were dozens of names that might follow that phrase. Mark made friends everywhere he went, in every setting, and he kept those friends close. So many of us say we'll make plans or keep in touch, but Mark followed through on that and the number of people who consider him one of their best friends shows how good he was at relationships and how much he treasured them. His favorite thing to do was to laugh and tell stories with those friends and his stories were hilarious.
However, by far, the center of all of Mark's passion and attention and the greatest love of his life was his son, Jared. Mark was a wonderful father, and there was no limit to his effort or expense or time for Jared. He expressed his love for Jared freely and often. A few weeks before his death, Mark said, "Christy, if anything happens to me, I want you to tell Jared every day that I love him."
