Mark Sasarak Obituary
Mark Wayne Sasarak, 64, of Lebanon, CT, passed away on November 28, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1959, in Norwich, CT, to George Sasarak Jr. and Marion (Miller) Sasarak. Mark was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers Frank Sasarak and David Sasarak Sr.
Mark was a dedicated and hardworking individual who completed his bachelor's degree while working full-time and raising a young family. He had a successful career as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Electric Boat where he served for 33 years before retiring. He was known for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to his profession.
Outside of his career, Mark had a variety of interests and hobbies. He was a skilled handyman and always found a solution to the problem at hand. He had a keen interest in military history, particularly the World Wars and submarine warfare. He was also a member of the Bozrah Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed target shooting, exercising his dogs, and bonding with his fellow members. Mark had a love for nature and took great pride in his apple orchard, garden, and the wood he chopped and seasoned for the cold winter months. Wherever he went, Mark's faithful canine companions, Venna and Josey, were by his side.
Mark will be remembered as a loving husband of 40 years to Nancy (Postemski) Sasarak of Lebanon, CT, and a proud father to Christopher Sasarak of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his sisters Melissa Colter and Sherri Srednicki, sister-in-law Mary Jane Sasarak, former brother-in-law Scott McArthur Sr., nieces Bethanie Colter, Rebecca Clifford, Tabitha Mattingly, Kathryn Sasarak, and Megan Postemski, and nephews David Sasarak Jr., Jason McArthur, Steven McArthur, Scott McArthur Jr., Lukes Colter, and Seth Colter.
A private service will be held at Potter Funeral Home in Willimantic, CT, followed by a graveside committal at New Lebanon Cemetery on Waterman Road in Lebanon, CT.
