Mark Scheidemann Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society - Schofield on Nov. 9, 2024.
Mark Peter Scheidemann, 73 passed away on October 25th, 2024 due to complications from diabetes.
Mark, a lifelong resident of Wausau was born to Walter and Phyllis Scheidemann in 1951. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandee in 1971.
Those who knew and loved Mark will always fondly remember him as a truth seeker. He began his spiritual journey as a young adult, visiting various churches and studying his Bible daily. In 1988 Mark was born again of The Holy Spirit during a worship service at Lighthouse Church. He truly became a new man; quitting drinking, smoking and (sadly for his children, rock and roll music). Shortly thereafter he met and married his second wife, Sally. Mark and Sally enjoyed 32 years of marriage before her passing in 2021.
An avid nature lover, Mark occupied much of his free time with outdoor activities including: camping, fishing, bike riding, stargazing and bonfires along the shores of Lake Superior.
Mark's strong work ethic was unmatched. He skillfully drove an 18 wheeler for B&T Mail Services for more than 30 years before retirement. Mark genuinely treasured his trucking career, in particular he found delight in making new friends from various places and learning about their cultures. In his downtime he would often visit small, family-owned ethnic restaurants along his route where he would fast become a regular.
Mark adored his family and friends dearly. Moreover, he loved Jesus fervently. The family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of God The Father.
Survivors include: daughters Heather, Andrea and Michelle; sons Torey (wife Bianca) and Troy (wife Megan) and beloved granddaughters Autumn, Amanda, Willow and Olivia.
Mark is also survived by his first wife, Sandee (husband Joe) and his two best friends of 62 years, Stafford and wife Linda. All of whom showed endless kindness and generosity throughout his final days.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the incredibly talented nurses and volunteers at Seasons of Life who provided extraordinary love and care during Mark's hospice stay.
Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Ron Shanke at noon on November 16th, at Lighthouse Church in Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, we humbly ask if you have not already, please accept the free gift of salvation through The Lord Jesus Christ. It is what Mark would have wanted most.
"I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the father but by me." -Jesus. John 14:6 KJV
