Mark G. Schomer

Mark G. Schomer, 70 of Connellsville died on Thursday March 26, 2026 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on September 28, 1955 in Connellsville a son of the late Edward L., Sr. and Gail M. Peffer Schomer. Mark was a graduate of Connellsville High School. Class of 1973. He served in the US Army from 1973-1975. He was formerly employed by CSX Transportation as a Car Inspector. He was the former owner and operator of "Hobbys N Stuff" in Connellsville for 25 years. Mark was a member King Solomon's Lodge # 346 Free and Accepted Masons. His hobbies included collecting Lionel Trains and spending many hours star gazing through his telescope and he was a member of the Amateur Astronomers of Pittsburgh. Mark was Lutheran by faith. He is survived by his wife, Judy Cypher Schomer whom he married on May 31, 1986; his sister, Lorie J. Herman ( Mike); his sisters- in-law, Kay Cropp and Susan McConnell ( Bill) and many nieces and nephews and close cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Edward L. Schomer, Jr. Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, PA on Sunday from 2-4,6-8 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M, the hour of services with Rev. Pete Salko officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt.
