Mark Schrader passed away on Friday, February 20th, 2026, at Wynn Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Mark was born on August 24, 1968, in Utica, to L. Michael and Barbara (Oglesby) Schrader. He was a 1986 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. On October 3, 1998, Mark was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kimberly Zbytniewski. They shared twenty-four wonderful years of marriage until her passing.

Mark was retired after 30 years of employment with the Mohawk Valley Health System in the IT Department, where he worked as a network analyst. He was passionate about music, the outdoors, the Adirondacks and he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Attending concerts was one of his favorite pass times some his favorite artists were The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, and Led Zeppelin. He recently enjoyed going to the casino for dinners and entertainment was his father.

Mark is survived by his parents, L. Michael and Barbara Schrader; his brother, L. Michael (Maria) Schrader III; and his sister-in-law, Kimberly Schrader. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews: Alaina Ferreira, Hannah Schrader, Morgan Schrader, Michael Zbytniewski, Matthew Zbytniewski, Zachary Zbytniewski, Brian Zbytniewski, Abigail Zbytniewski, and Lilia Zbytniewski; as well as his great-nieces and great-nephew, Isabella grace, Emma Kathryn and Lucas Michael, who he called his best friends and who held a very special place in his heart. Mark was predeceased by his wife, Kimberly the love of his life, and his brother, David who always shared a special bond.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Heintz Funeral Service, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY 13502. A funeral service will take place at the conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Associaton 7272 Greenville Ave.
