Mark D. Scott, 70 years of Fremont, NE, passed away August 22, 2025, at Methodist Fremont Health. He was born on October 12, 1954, in Santa Barbara, CA, to Richard and Bernice (McKinney) Scott.

Mark moved to Fremont, NE as a young child. He married Beth Scott in 1975, and raised their family of four children in North Bend, NE. They later divorced. Mark was reunited with his soul mate, Jill (Cobb) Aurthur, in 2016 and they resided in Fremont. He was a welder for Valmont Industries for over 25 years and worked for his longtime friend, Whitey Jacob. Mark enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and traveling adventures. He had a passion for music, art and played guitar. He loved sharing stories and reconnecting with old classmates and friends. One of his biggest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his soulmate and wife, Jill; his children, Clay (Summer) Scott of North Bend, NE, Sarah (Matt) Boden of Hickman, NE, Ruth (Travis) Rust of Harlan, IA, Helen (Ryan) Brunk of Wellman, IA, Shane (Lisa) Bennett of Grand Island, NE; Jill's children, Chris (Teija) Devere of Finland, Elizabeth Arthur of Lincoln, NE, Billy (Stephanie) Arthur of Fremont, NE; brother, Schuyler (Glenda) Schenck of Fremont, NE; sisters, Rose Kuhns of Fremont, NE, Eileen Holmberg of Scribner, NE; 15 grandchildren and his special companion and loving dog, Roy.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; Richard Scott, Bernice and Hugo Holmberg; brother-in-law, Michael Kuhns and grandson, Nick Hall.

Funeral Service is 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, NE. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, at Moser's. Burial at a later date will be in Ridge Cemetery.
