Mark Raymond Seim of Shirley, Missouri, was born on January 8, 1955, in Spokane, Washington. Mark departed this life peacefully in his home on Monday evening, September 29, 2025, at the age of 70.
Mark had a successful career as a skilled welder, where he traveled to many places. He was employed by Exxon and Lee Mechanical throughout those years. He built many memories along the way and loved to share stories about his experiences.
Mark was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching football games with his sons. His love for family was evident, especially with his enjoyment of being a Papa to his grandchildren. Mark had a fondness for the outdoors and especially loved spending time at the lake on his property. He also found joy in the companionship of his dog, Bear.
He leaves behind three sons, Dallas Seim, Dalton Seim (Fiance, Miranda McKelvey), and David Klekamp; three grandchildren: Della Seim, Hunter Johnson, and Abby Klekamp; nine siblings: Kristine Seim Mizarahi (Eli), David Seim, Tom Seim, Debbie Martin (Kelly), John Seim, Candi Connick, Tim Seim (Lynn), Terry Seim, and Dan Seim (Cheryl). In addition, he is survived by his in-laws: Tom Ricketts, Harriet Smith Collier, Paula Jones, Alan and Georgia Smith, and Dorothy Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Margaret Seim, his wife and mother of his sons, Beverly (Smith) Seim; his paternal grandparents, Ole and Hilma Seim; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Audrey Brett; two siblings, Patty Ricketts and Steve Seim; his father-in-law, Freddie Smith and mother-in-law, Verla Mahurin; and two nephews: James and Matthew Reary.
A memorial gathering and service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at DeClue Funeral Home located at 301 E High Street, Potosi, Missouri. The gathering will start at 1:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 3:00 PM.
Mark will be remembered for his love of family, simple joys, and the adventures he shared with those who loved him. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
