Mark Shuff Obituary
Father Andrew Killeen, associate pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place at Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mark W. Shuff was born on October 14, 1947, in Mamou, LA to Hilton Shuff and Louise Lafleur Shuff. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked in the oil field for many years. Mark was also employed with the Department of the Interior in the MMS Division. In his younger years he loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his garden. He was a fantastic cook and loved cooking for everyone. His family meant the world to him, and he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Shuff; daughter, Jessica Shuff of Ville Platte; step-daughter, Liz Berthelot of Ville Platte; step-son, Kenneth Berthelot and wife, Jackie of Carencro; two grandchildren, Ann-Kathryn Vidrine and Gunner Landreneau; sister, Mary Ellis Shuff Fontenot of Ville Platte; brother, Tony Shuff and wife, Yvonne of Ville Platte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilton Shuff and Louise Lafleur Shuff; and brother-in-law, Nelton Fontenot.
At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, August 8, 2021, beginning at 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
