Mark Loren Simons, 46, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on July 14, 1978, the son of George Byron and Carolyn Rose White Simons of Clarksburg.
Mark was a proud 1996 graduate of Bridgeport High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, with a minor in History, from Virginia Tech. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University and practiced law in private practice in Chesapeake, Virginia. In his earlier years, Mark was a member of Eastview United Methodist Church.
Outside of his legal career, Mark was passionate about the arts and nature. He found joy in hiking, reading, and painting, and was a devoted admirer of art in all its forms. He loved animals, especially his beloved cat Manny.
In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by three sisters: Michele Allman and husband Robert of Morgantown; Melissa White and husband Michael of Bridgeport; and Marsha Simons of Clarksburg. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Shannon Allman, Lily Allman, Garrett White and his wife Danielle, Joshua White, and Christina White. Mark leaves behind three great-nieces and nephews: Brooks, Briar, and Ozzy. He is also survived by his aunt, Mabel Franks; special cousin, Jean-Pierre Bonasso; and several cousins and close friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Virginia Marra White and Byron D and Gale Garrett Simons, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM and on Tuesday July 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Reverend Etheldean Yanero presiding.
