Mark Sviben Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Earle Funeral Home - Blackwood on Jun. 17, 2025.
Mark D. Sviben, a man known for his heart of gold shone brightly through his selfless acts and loving nature, passed away on June 14, 2025, at Jefferson Hospital in Washington Twp., NJ. Born on May 7, 1960, in Camden, NJ, Mark's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his passion for life, and his remarkable ability to fix just about anything with his handy skills.
Mark was the loving son of Martha. His legacy is carried on by his adoring family, including his daughters Kristin Sviben (Mido), Brandy Sviben, and Taylor Sviben; his treasured grandson Tyler-Reese Pitts and great-grandson Ace Pitts. Along with his partner Susie Datz, her children, and grandchildren. The loving brother of Larry Sviben, his late brother Dennis Sviben; his late sister Judy Sviben; his sister Patti Flynn (Joseph); his sister Sharon Cordner (Steve); his sister Martha Hendricks (Jerry); and his sister Dawn Sexton (Mike). He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews: Kelly Wigginton (Don), Katelynn Dunn (Shane), Stevi Cordner, Jordan Cordner, Lauren Hendricks, Lindsay Hendricks, Jared Hendricks (Megan), and Joseph Flynn (Erin), along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Mark dedicated many years of service to the Voorhees Twp., NJ public school district, where he was not only a maintenance foreman but also a much-respected colleague and friend. He retired in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, commitment, and the countless lives he touched through his role. Mark's work ethic was unparalleled, and he continued working past his eligible retirement to ensure the well-being of his family, a testament to his selfless nature.
An avid golfer, Mark found joy on the greens, where he shared laughter and friendly competition with his friends. His love for target shooting was matched only by his love for entertaining at his home, where he was known to be a gracious host and welcomed all. Mark's garage was a haven for friends and family, a place of camaraderie and shared stories. His daughters were the center of his world, and he loved them dearly, always putting their needs before his own.
Mark's life was a living example of putting others first. He will be remembered not only for the lives he touched but also for the warmth and generosity that were the hallmarks of his character. Mark's story is not one of an ending but a lasting influence that will continue to inspire and guide us. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ 08012, where a Prayer Service will begin at 11:00 AM.
